By sandblasting the ECO-oh! board, designer Adrianus Kundert gives it a whole new identity – not by adding material but by removing a tiny part of the board’s surface. By transforming the texture, the designer reveals an aesthetic feature that evokes aspects of stone and concrete and unfolds its decorative potential for interior design and architecture.
The application of a material is to a large extent determined by the coarseness or smoothness of its surface. Subjecting the surface to a range of different treatment techniques – giving the whole structure an even appearance – makes ECO-oh!’s composite board ideally suited for a range of functional interior design applications, bestowing decorative value to a purposely created structure.
