Fred Erik developed a series of graphical top layers for the ECO-oh! boards. By covering certain parts of the composite board, he engaged in an aesthetic exploration of the tension between geometrically unfolded patterns and the erratic flaky pattern of the composite board. By adding a specific color filter, different color variations emerge from the flaky mixture.
A typical feature of the ECO-oh! boards is the whimsical mix of colors created by a blend of shrink wraps, plastic bags, carrier bags and other types of plastic film. Because of the prominence of the resulting flaky pattern, it is possible to extend the scope of potential applications of the material by breaking this pattern.
